About this course

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of senior managers within building and construction firms.

 

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required for any person who is to carry out construction work. Achievement of unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

 

Additional units of competency may be required to meet builder or project manager registration requirements in various States and Territories.

Pathways from the qualification

After achieving this qualification candidates may undertake further higher education (Bachelor degree).

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course but preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • Have completed a Certificate III or IV in related fields of study, or have relevant workplace experiences.

It is recommended that individuals should:

  • Be 18 years or older; and
  • Have completed Australian Year 12 or its equivalent with suitable English language skills.
  • International Students are also required to have an English ability at the IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

A pre‐training interview or a placement test may be required with the candidate to determine the current competency and/or vocational experience, as well as candidate’s expectations from this course.
